William Blair is a premier global financial services firm focusing on investment banking, investment management, and private wealth management.
As part of William Blair’s small in-house creative team for over four years, Eddie promoted consistent quality standards of the corporate brand identity system for both digital and print.
This role included digital wireframing, photo art direction, social media assets, and more. Eddie also managed and facilitated relationships with outside production agencies, vendors, and freelancers when necessary.
Eddie provided art direction, edited photography, and designed layouts for William Blair’s advertising. It was a collaborative effort with William Blair's internal stakeholders and photographer Callie Lipkin.

In 2018, the Brand Marketing and Communications department re-examined the brand identity for the company's long-running private equity conference—where an exclusive group of investors meet select private companies. A major part of the refresh was shifting the event to a stylish and contemporary venue: the Loews Chicago Hotel (pictured below). The building's interior design is black-and-white, gray, and punctuated with burgundy.
Eddie's winning redesign includes overlapping shapes to imply "connections." It also complements the grids and patterns of the venue’s interior design. At the conference, this branding was applied to different touchpoints to create a comprehensive, professional experience for William Blair's guests.

In late 2017, the Brand Marketing and Communications department created a video to spotlight 2017’s achievements and capture the “unheard voices and faces” of William Blair.
Eddie provided guidelines and resources of William Blair’s visual system for the video editor, including: correct logo usage, typography, colors, and stock footage. Eddie managed all of the in-house assets and related files and oversaw the transcript editing process.
This work was completed in collaboration with videographer Callie Lipkin and video editor Brian Sarfatty.

During filming, Eddie interviewed several employees for different segments. He provided interviewees with prompts on talking points and provided feedback to the videographer between takes. He guided the interviewees to get the specific words and phrasings needed. Eddie was also on-hand during the b-roll filming in the office building.
The video premiered at the 2018 Town Hall Meeting and Outlook for all 1,300+ employees across the globe. It was later distributed online, as well as on large digital displays throughout the Chicago headquarters.

The in-house creative team advocated for a visual content strategy for William Blair's social media feeds to attract more attention and stimulate more audience engagement.
